Just a chance of something electrical, if anyone sees or hears anything, please report it here.

What a shock :(

Big flash of lightning in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear at about 18:20

There was a small powercut in Stanley due to lightning at about 18:00.

Wasn't expecting this!

At 6.45pm we had an absolutley insane downpour of rain lasting for 2 minutes. One huge lightning fork hit a house about 5 miles to the south of my location (AS ALWAYS) followed by a loud boom of thunder. That was the only lightning\thunder that i saw or heard.

Yeah...it's strange because places without power appear quite random. I.e. there is an area of road that comes out of Durham City that is completely without power but is only about a few hundred yards long, and everywhere else is fine.
