Just had a heavy shower, clear to the far north-west.

A fairly bright day with an odd light shower and a blustery SSW breeze.

A heavy convective shower crossed Durham City today at around 4.40pm. It came out of the blue, and it skirted the south-western part of the city which i happened to be in during the time. I live about 2.8 miles away from the city centre so i bet that my home area stayed completely dry - being the centre of the forcefield.

The shower came in bursts as it blew across the sky, and there were some pretty hefty bursts in there, it was like somebody was turning on a power shower and then suddenly turning it off, and suddenly turning it back on again a few moments later. I should've taken some photo's as it appeared to be heading towards Sunderland...some massive convection developing as it headed east-north-eastwards.

Been a mild day...reaching 18C here, but it's recently cooled down a bit.

It was mostly a day of sunny intervals and patchy cloud in Leeds, but we had a couple of showers, a fairly heavy one between 4 and 5 pm.

Report for Friday 28th October 2005, Readings taken at 23:55.

A mixed day. The morning began overcast and dull with light drizzle. This cleared up by mid-morning and the remainder of the day was a mixture of overcast spells and occasional hazy sunshine, though remaining dry. It was a mild day, especially so with regards to the minimum temperature. Humidity was also high, so although there was a moderate southerly wind, it did feel close at times.

Current Temp: 13.4°C

Max Temp: 16.9°C (at 14:06)

Min Temp: 13.3°C (at 23:53)

Humidity: 86%

Min Humidity: 78% (at 13:31)

Pressure: 1008.7hPa (Steady)

Dewpoint: 11.0°C

Wind: SSE (7mph)

Rain Today: Trace

My October average currently stands at 13.4°C (+2.7°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
