Rain mainly affecting southern parts at first on Monday clearing to leave all areas with a mixture of sunshine and showers. For the remainder of the week the north and west unsettled with rain or showers whilst the east especially the southeast will see a good deal of dry weather. Thereafter probably unsettled with rain or showers at times, especially in the north and west with the best of any drier and brighter weather confined to the south and east of England. Temperatures mostly near normal over the northwest becoming warm at times over the east and southeast. Quite windy at times perhaps gales in the far northwest.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 31 Jul 2007 to Thursday 9 Aug 2007:

Northwestern parts starting unsettled. However, outbreaks of rain are likely to spread southeastwards mid-week next week, but this rain is expected to turn lighter and more patchy as it spreads southeastwards. Ahead of the rain, it should be pleasantly warm in sunny spells. Towards the end of next week, the northwest remains unsettled and at times rather windy with showers or longer spells of rain, and it will be rather cool. Some drier spells are still likely in the southeast with some warmer sunny spells. Thereafter, northwesterly winds look set to bring in variable cloud and some sunshine, but still the risk of scattered showers. However, out of the wind and in any sunshine, it should feel warm.

For southern parts, after a weakening band of rain or showers clears away during Thursday, Friday is expected to be mainly dry with sunny spells and light winds. Thereafter, it is expected to be predominantly dry for a time but there is a low risk of thundery showers and, towards the end of the period, perhaps a return of rather more unsettled weather. In the north, it is expected to be unsettled throughout with periods of rain, showers and sunny intervals, accompanied by strong winds at times. Temperatures, near or a little above normal in the south, becoming rather warm or warm for a time in the south. In the north, however, temperatures are likely to be near or a little below normal, rather cool in the wind and rain.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Aug 2007 to Sunday 12 Aug 2007:

A good deal of dry and warm weather is expected over southern parts through next week-end and for the start of the following week although there is a low risk of some thundery showers spreading northwards from the continent for a time and rather less settled conditions may then return through the week. Northern parts may start this period mostly dry but on the whole will be more unsettled with further showers or some more prolonged spells of rain and with strong winds at times. Southern areas are expected to be warm or very warm at first, otherwise temperatures should be generally near the seasonal average, perhaps rather cool a times in the more unsettled north.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Aug 2007 to Sunday 12 Aug 2007:

High pressure is expected to dominate bringing a good deal of dry, warm weather with sunny spells across the UK. The most sunshine and plenty of fine weather is forecast across England and Wales, although there is a risk of some showers pushing across from the southwest this coming Sunday and Monday. Northern parts, especially northern Scotland, will be rather more unsettled, with some spells of cloud, rain and breezy conditions, due to low pressure centered to the north, but these will be interspersed with some fine periods. Temperatures in the north will be near or just above normal, whilst to the south it will be warm or very warm generally, possibly warmest this Sunday and Monday, and perhaps becoming hot in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 8 Aug 2007 to Friday 17 Aug 2007:

The rather unsettled summer weather looks set to continue with little indication in this period of any prolonged, dry and sunny weather. Much of the period, particularly the first part will be dominated by low pressure close to or over the United Kingdom bringing showers or rain to many places, some of which could be heavy and thundery. There will be some sunshine in between times, particularly in coastal parts. Towards the end of the period the indications are for the traditional westerly winds to return, perhaps bringing slightly less wet conditions to southern parts, with a decreased risk of heavy downpours here. Temperatures throughout the period are likely to be close to normal with little sign of a summer heatwave.

UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Aug 2007 to Saturday 18 Aug 2007:

The signal for much of this outlook period is still for rather changeable conditions to dominate the weather. Showers are expected, possibly a few longer spells of rain, either of which could be heavy and thundery, but also some brighter intervals. Brief incursions of warmer air are possible, more especially in southern parts, but for the first part of the period, temperatures will be generally not too far from normal. During the latter part of the period, towards the end of next week and into the weekend, there is renewed optimism that particularly in the southwestern half of the UK, pressure may build and bring more in the way of prolonged drier and brighter weather, although even if this were to occur, there is no signal for exceptionally high temperatures.

UK Outlook for Sunday 12 Aug 2007 to Tuesday 21 Aug 2007:

Unsettled conditions with showers are expected across all parts at the start of the forecast, with some locally heavy downpours and perhaps some longer spells of rain too. Those showers are likely to become more scattered during the first part of next week, with northwestern areas staying the most unsettled, whilst much of England and Wales could see a spell of mostly dry, bright weather, especially from around mid-week. The following weekend and into the next week look likely to see the odd spell of light rain with plenty of dry, bright interludes as higher pressure tries to edge in from the southwest. Temperatures are likely to remain near the seasonal average, though during sunnier interludes it should feel pleasantly warm.

UK Outlook for Saturday 18 Aug 2007 to Monday 27 Aug 2007:

The unsettled weather pattern looks set to continue well into this forecast period, but there is some hope that the weather may become more settled later. During the weekend there is now more scope for another spell of wet weather, especially for the southwest, though some areas in the east and north may miss the worst of the rain. During the following week there are a few signs of more settled conditions with some sunshine at times, although showers, locally heavy and thundery are still possible at times, and all areas are at risk of these. Temperatures should gradually recover to average, so at least it should feel warm in the sunshine, though there is little sign for any really warm weather at this time.

UK Outlook for Sunday 19 Aug 2007 to Tuesday 28 Aug 2007:

The unsettled weather pattern still looks set to continue into this forecast period, but there is some hope that the weather may become more settled, particularly across northern and some central areas. The beginning of next week is expected to start changeable with rain or showers, the most persistent and heavy of these across southern and western areas. However, there are now indications that western and then northern areas should become mostly dry with more in the way of sunshine. Thereafter, for the rest of next week and through the weekend, southern areas are likely to remain unsettled with further rain or showers, perhaps with stiff easterly winds. Further north, plenty of dry and fine weather is likely, though with the risk of turning more unsettled later.

UK Outlook for Monday 20 Aug 2007 to Wednesday 29 Aug 2007:

The unsettled weather pattern still looks set to continue early in the period with further showers or more prolonged rain at times, the latter most likely in the northwest and also some eastern parts on Monday and more widely for a time on Tuesday. Thereafter, it is likely to become drier for a time for many areas, with sunny spells, although there remains a risk of occasional rain or showers in the south, some heavy and perhaps thundery. The unsettled scenario is likely to continue through the remainder of the period, bright or sunny spells at times but still a risk of occasional rain or showers. Temperatures, mostly near normal, although perhaps recovering a tlittle from the middle of next week.

UK Outlook for Sunday 26 Aug 2007 to Tuesday 4 Sep 2007:

Pressure is expected to be relatively high across the United Kingdom for much of this forecast period, so most places should have some lengthy spells of dry weather. The Bank Holiday weekend should be dry in most places, though some rain is likely in the northwest of the UK. There is also a low risk of some thundery showers across southern areas. In any sunshine, it should feel pleasantly warm out of the breeze. After the Bank Holiday, central and southern areas should have plenty of dry and rather warm weather throughout. Further north, it is likely to unsettled and at times windy with a risk of rain, and it will be rather cool at times, especially in the northeast. Later, this more unsettled weather may extend further south.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 29 Aug 2007 to Friday 7 Sep 2007:

Northern parts of the UK are expected to be rather cloudy and showery perhaps with some more persistent rain at times later next week and over the weekend. It is also likely to be rather windy, especially in the far north. England and Wales are likely to be mostly dry with sunny spells and light winds, so feeling pleasant in any sunshine. There is a risk of some showers at times, mainly near the east coast on Wednesday and perhaps over northern England by the weekend. The following week is likely to be rather mixed, with some fine weather, especially in the south, and some spells of rain, most frequent in the north. Temperatures will only be around average generally throughout the period, with some rather chilly nights possible.

Northern parts of the UK are expected to be rather cloudy with rain at times, mainly over the weekend when it may be persistent and quite heavy in the far north, with strong winds. Showers and strong winds are also likely in the east. The south and southwest will be dry with sunny spells and light winds, with the possibility of overnight mist or fog. UK Outlook for Sunday 2 Sep 2007 to Tuesday 11 Sep 2007:

A weakening cold front will spread some patchy rain southwards on Sunday with cooler air following from the north. A couple of cooler days and nights can then be expected, albeit with some sunshine, particularly in the south. A few showers are possible for a time in the north, but thereafter, during the following week and into the weekend, the high pressure re-asserts itself from the west, probably locating itself over, or to the southeast of the UK, so with light winds, possibly from the near continent, temperatures will recover to average, and it may even become rather warm at times in the south. The beginning of the following week looks set to continue mainly dry in the southeast, but more unsettled conditions could push into the northwest.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 5 Sep 2007 to Friday 14 Sep 2007:

Largely dry with sunny spells and light winds as high pressure continues to bring settled weather across most of the UK throughout this period. However, northern and western Scotland will be rather more cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, and some areas of cloud, and perhaps drizzle, may affect other northern and western coasts at times too. There is a risk of a band of rain pushing southwards across most parts towards the end of the forecast period. Temperatures will be around normal generally, perhaps rising into the warm or possibly very warm categories for a few days over the weekend though, before returning to around normal again by the end of this period.

UK Outlook for Friday 7 Sep 2007 to Sunday 16 Sep 2007:

It still looks set to be largely dry with sunny spells and fairly light winds, as high pressure continues to bring settled weather across most of the UK throughout this period. However, northern Scotland may be rather more cloudy and breezy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle at times, as weather fronts feed around the northern edge of that high pressure. Some areas of cloud and drizzle are possible over other exposed northwestern coasts, especially at first, and scattered showers may affect eastern coasts at times on Friday (7th) too. Temperatures will be around or just above normal or initially, and will rise to warm or possibly very warm, particularly in the south, from the coming weekend as air feeds in from a more southerly direction for a time.

Monday and Tuesday will be cloudy with patchy light rain in northern and eastern parts. Mainly dry with sunny spells in the south and west. Breezy at times in the north, lighter winds in the south. Temperatures generally near normal, but locally warm in the south. Through Wednesday to Friday, rain should become confined to the far northwest. Most places dry with variable cloud and sunshine at times. Winds light with near normal temperatures, locally warm in the sunnier spots. Through the following weekend pressure will decline with weather fronts affecting northern and western areas, this spreading to southern areas as well at the start of the following week. Then rain at times in all areas during the week with some brighter spells in the south.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 11 Sep 2007 to Thursday 20 Sep 2007:

High pressure is expected to continue to dominate the weather through the first week of this period, bringing mostly dry conditions with sunny spells and light winds. However, the north and east may see rather cloudy, breezy conditions and some showers initially, whilst more unsettled weather is also likely over northwest Scotland by the end of the first week. Overnight mist and fog patches are possible across the UK, but these should clear fairly quickly in the mornings. Temperatures will be mostly above normal and it will be warm in any prolonged sunshine. There is more uncertainty over the forecast for the following week with a risk of more unsettled weather returning across the whole of the UK and temperatures dropping to around or just below normal.
