UK Outlook for Monday 16 Apr 2007 to Wednesday 25 Apr 2007:

A band of rain across the far NW early Monday is expected to make erratic progress SE during the day probably reaching the far SE of England after dark. Ahead of this band it will continue very warm for the time of year with occasional sunny spells and a scattering of showers, perhaps thundery. The remainder of the week will then see some sunshine for all, but also further showers, especially in the west and north. Cooler across the north, but, although not as warm as previous days, it should continue warm, possibly very warm across England and Wales. Next weekend and into the following week sees a gradual change to more unsettled conditions with showers or rain. However temperatures should remain near or above average.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 17 Apr 2007 to Thursday 26 Apr 2007:

A weakening band of cloud and showery rain lying across central parts of the UK early in the period will mark the dividing line between very warm conditions to the south with occasional sunny spells and a scattering of showers, perhaps thundery, from much cooler and fresher conditions with a risk of overnight frost and a scattering of showers to the north. The remainder of the week will then see some sunshine for all, but also further showers. Remaining cool across the north, but, although not as warm as previous days, it should continue warm, possibly very warm across England and Wales. Next weekend and into the following week sees a gradual change to more unsettled conditions with showers or rain. However temperatures should remain near or above average.

Most of England and Wales should enjoy a good deal of dry weather with spells of sunshine up to the weekend and well into the following week. Later on there is an increasing likelyhood of cloudier more unsettled conditions with rain or showers but still some dry and bright weather. Northern districts are expected to remain more unsettled and occasionally windy with spells of rain, especially in the far north, interspersed with brighter weather and scattered showers. These showers may turn wintry for a time over higher mountains. Daytime temperatures mostly above average, and warm or very warm at times, especially central and southern parts of England. Probably a little below average at times in the north. Some overnight frosts are likely though.

UK Outlook for Thursday 19 Apr 2007 to Saturday 28 Apr 2007:

Most the UK will start dry with spells of sunshine and it will be warm in the south, but a weakening band of rain is expected to push south later on Thursday and into Friday. Brighter colder weather will follow but with scattered showers in the north and east, these showers wintry for a time over northern hills. It will become mainly dry again in the south over the weekend, but further rain or showers are expected in the north and the more unsettled conditions will spread south to all parts in the following week, though there will still be brighter and drier spells. Temperatures will be near normal in the south and rather cold in the north over the weekend but probably becoming warmer again in the south later.

UK Outlook for Friday 20 Apr 2007 to Sunday 29 Apr 2007:

Plenty of dry weather to start with just a light shower or two in the south on Friday and a few wintry showers across northernmost Scotland. Clear periods will lead to a night frost for many parts but sunny spells will lift afternoon temperatures a little above normal, especially in the south. Cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain will probably reach the NW of the UK for Sunday or Monday. This more unsettled weather is likely to spread erratically south and east to affect most parts, at times, from Tuesday. Rain amounts will probably be small in many places, especially in the south and east. Frost risk will reduce as cloudier skies extend east, despite this there will be some sunny spells. Temperatures are again likely to be above normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Apr 2007 to Monday 30 Apr 2007:

Most parts dry on Saturday. Clear periods will lead to frost for some parts on Saturday morning but sunny spells will lift afternoon temperatures near normal in the north, and a little above normal in the south. Cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain will probably spread across Scotland during Sunday, but the south will remain dry and become rather warm. The more unsettled weather in the north is likely to spread erratically south to affect most parts from Tuesday onwards. Rain amounts will probably be mostly small, especially in the south and east, though there is an increasing risk of heavier rain towards the end of the period. Temperatures are likely to be above normal for the first part of the week but will probably return to near normal later.

UK Outlook for Monday 23 Apr 2007 to Wednesday 2 May 2007:

Eastern parts are likely to start dry but unsettled weather with cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain will spread from the west to affect most parts over the first two days. There will be some drier spells after this but further rain or showers will develop to affect most parts from time to time with at least some rain expected in all parts. Amounts of rain generally are not expected to be high with western parts likely to see the most persistent rain or showers. There is, however, a risk for some central and eastern parts that the showers locally become heavy and thundery, although this detail has very low confidence. Temperatures mostly near or a little above normal, perhaps starting and ending up rather warm in SE parts.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 Apr 2007 to Friday 4 May 2007:

Generally more unsettled than of late with showers or longer spells of rain for all parts of the UK, although still with temperatures above average. The rain and showers will be interspersed with some drier spells, probably best in the south and east, whilst western and northern parts will see the most unsettled conditions with a risk of gales at times, mainly at first. As we head into the second week there is the prospect of generally drier, warmer conditions returning, particularly to England and Wales. Temperatures will be mostly near or a little above normal in cloudier, wetter spells, but will recover to rather warm, perhaps warm in any sunnier interludes, especially across the south and southeast later.

Generally unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain for all parts of the UK. The rain and showers will be interspersed with some drier spells, and it looks as though the first two days will be dry in the southeast, but with unsettled weather spreading from the northwest over the weekend. Temperatures will be above normal in most parts and it may become warm in the southeast. The first week of May will see the unsettled weather continuing with further rain for most parts, but amounts will be mostly small away from the northwest, and there is a chance of a longer drier interlude in the south around the middle of the week. Temperatures will be mostly nearer normal but it will again be rather warm in any sunnier interludes.

UK Outlook for Sunday 29 Apr 2007 to Tuesday 8 May 2007:

The last days of April now look likely to be dry over most of the UK with plenty of warm sunshine, but onshore winds will keep eastern coasts cooler. However there remains a risk of outbreaks of rain in the west which could be locally heavy and thundery. The first week of May will probably see unsettled weather becoming more prevalent with some rain for most parts, but amounts will probably be mostly small at first. Temperatures will ease back to be near normal by the end of the week as winds turn to a more northerly direction, and persistently cloudy areas and some eastern coastal areas may be on the cool side. The unsettled theme is expected to continue through the weekend into the start of the following week.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 Apr 2007 to Wednesday 9 May 2007:

Mainly dry start although showery and perhaps thundery outbreaks of rain will be an increasing risk for southwest and western parts of the UK. This showery rain may well spread to other parts early in the period, although this is quite uncertain. Slowly drier weather looks set to return southwards over the UK around the middle of the period. After the weekend more unsettled weather may spread from the west, though more especially for northwestern parts of the UK. Temperatures still warm in paces to start, though nearer normal in the showery rain and near North Sea coasts and easing down generally. Cooler air looks set to spread from the north around the middle of the period with temperatures nearer normal in most parts for a time.

UK Outlook for Sunday 6 May 2007 to Tuesday 15 May 2007:

Although the fine, warm weather looks like lasting into Sunday, more especially in the east, the emphasis for next week is on more unsettled and noticeably cooler conditions. Rain or showers will fall in most areas at times, probably quite heavy in parts of the north and west. However, further south and east, the rainfall may not be sufficient to make up for the recent very dry conditions. Temperatures will fall towards normal and with generally breezy weather it will often feel cool. Indeed strong winds or even gales may occur in the exposed north and west. Some drier and brighter spells are still likely between the rain and showers, with a hint of more in the way of dry and slightly warmer weather into the following weekend and beyond..

UK Outlook for Wednesday 9 May 2007 to Friday 18 May 2007:

Mostly unsettled weather is expected for for much of this period. Generally a lot of cloud and rain or showers will affect most areas at times, Some of the rain with probably be quite heavy at times, especially in parts of the north and west. Temperatures mostly near normal and it will often feel cool in the wind. Indeed it may be cold enough for snow over higher ground in the north and local overnight frost. Strong winds or gales may occur especially in exposed hill and coastal locations. Some brighter drier spells are still likely, more especially later in the period in western districts. At this stage though, no extended dry spell is expected.

UK Outlook for Friday 11 May 2007 to Sunday 20 May 2007:

Chilly northwest winds with sunny spells and showers for northern parts to start. Even in the south temperatures may just be a little below normal with a fairly cloudy and showery picture. Following a brief drier interval further rain is expected to spread from the Atlantic across the UK continuing the unsettled spell of weather. Some drier spells will follow between further rain or showery bands and this will allow some sunny or clear spells. All parts should see some rain through this period although later in the period the chance of rain across southeast UK decreases. Temperatures will ease up a little, though probably not very much of above the norm. Winds are likely to be strong at times more especially early in the period.
