rumbles of Thunder here in Luton.

infact it turned out to be a five min thunder hail storm which has quickly moved on.

It's been crystal clear here all day with unbroken sunshine and a high of 13.4C, much lower than what I have been having in Spain over the last week. Big heavy cu-nimbs to the north and west and occasional low short rumbles of thunder.

WEATHER IN MADRID LAST WEEK:

Friday 31st - Unbroken sunshine with light winds and cirrus by the afternoon. 23.9C

Saturday 1st - Hazy sunshine in the morning then clear by the afternoon. 24.6C

Rain last night turned to snow during the early hours giving a 1cm cover for a few hours early this morning, the sun thawed the snow by 0730.

The morning was dry with sunny intervals and gradually increasing cumulus.

Sunny intervals and showers of sleet, hail and rain this afternoon.

Temp' at 1800 was 4.4c after a min' last night of 0.0c and a max' today of 6.8c. Rainfall from 0900 2.7mm. Highest gust today 37 mph W at 1017 g.m.t.

Sunshine today, 4.10 hrs.

Report for Saturday 8th April 2006, Readings taken at 23:55.

A mostly cloudy day with heavy showers. These were a mixture of rain, hail and sleet, two of which were thundery in nature. Temperatures were marginally below average for the time of year and there was a cold wind. It did however feel relatively mild during the sunny interludes between showers.
