Very wet and breezy start to Wednesday, cleared up by about 11am, drop in temperature throughout the afternoon, just had a very squally shower. Looked potentially thundery, but no such luck. :(

But as the shower advanced quickly ESE wards, I managed to grab this rather nice pic from the front of my house. :)

I had a shock on realising the bricks holding down our bench cover had been thrown off overnight  (see storms/extreme weather thread)

Had torrential rain and gales until 0900 then a mostly sunny day with scattered showers (sleet/hail reported on the hills).

Much colder this afternoon, temp started at 7c and had fallen to 5c by 1700.

4c now and I sense showers in the air.

Lancaster had quite a mixed day. Maximum of 7C at about 11am, with sunny spells and showers (hail mixed in) in morning. During the afternoon a regoin of persistent heavy rain, with hail and thunder briefly, moved over the area, with a temperature of only 3C for a time, although I didn't see any sleet.

Now it's got very windy all of a sudden. This, of course, means an increase in imported warmth from the sea, causing the temperature to rise to 6C.
