There are some odd looking clouds sitting very motionless over the mountains. The photographs dont really show them well. but they have a flat or ripled underside and half formed cumlus tops, the strangest thing is the air mas at the height is completly motionless.

They look like lenticular clouds to me. I think they form on the crests of the lea-waves as the air passes over the hilltops? :D

Peter is right, wave clouds do not move from the place they form as the wind flows through them, can be very turbulent in spite of their smooth looking appearance, can sometimes also indicate what are called rotor effects on the side of the hill away from the wind flow.
