A quiet morning with the sun just beginning to clear an area of cirrostratus to the south east.

Persistent showers yesterday evening, eventually dying out during the early hours of this morning, accompanied by SW gale with a max' gust of 69 mph at 1940.

Temperature at 0900 was 4.9c after a min' of 4.5c. Rainfall from 0900 yesterday, 8.9mm.

2 oktas cirrus, cirrostratus and cumulus. Vis', 10 miles. Wind 9 mph W. Brief, and very light, shower in past hour.

Finally a seasonally feel to the weather. The day started cloudy with a few spots of rain. Clear sky became visible to the NW by 10.00 and a slow clearance provided sunshine from 13.00 <_< .
