Welcome to the voting to select the best photo of December. We're down to five finalists - thanks to all those who voted in the first round.

So, as always, there can be only one winner

This competition was for photos taken during December 2006. The winning shot will form part of the 2008 netweather.tv Calendar.

Voting will end at 12 noon on Wednesday 31st January.

Voting on the January 2007 Photo Comp will then begin a few days later

2007 Calendar

We have had a lot of problems with printers who were to have produced the calendar in time for the New Year - they badly let us down. As a result, we are exploring the idea of publishing a netweather.tv Year Book - and we'll hopefully have some more positive news soon.

Voting is as simple as simply clicking in the poll for your favourite picture. These are the photos that made it through to the final round (in alphabetical order):

Has to be Coffee's robin

Ditto.

Probably one of the best photos I've seen in the photo competitions.

coffee for me.

Tea for me. One sugar, please

Oh, you mean the picture? Yes, excellent stuff with a difficult subject in obviously low light conditions.

I also like Phil B's river pic. There's so much action with the slow shutter speed blurring the water rushing over the rocks. It almost makes you feel you are there. The others are atmospheric and also very good, but those two are hard to capture well - and they have done just that. I take my hat off to both of you. At least I would do if I could find that smilie...

Regardless of the final result, I'm dead chuffed to have made the final at my first attempt. Having looked at the entries in this and previous months, I knew how high the standard was.

Thanks to everyone who voted for my pic, and Good Luck to all the finalists!

I let my partner, Jim choose this month - and he likes water sports, so definitely Phil B :D

I think Ross B's photo is the best one of the five, and seeing as he's a fellow moderator, it would be really churlish of me not to vote for it. Well, I'm nothing if not churlish so I'm voting for Smich. Very January.

Well done Coffee!

Special thanks to OON, who ensured I wasn't last outright, with a late vote - against his better judgement!
