Lowest I ever recorded is 1mm so this april isn't going to make a record as far as Sheffield is concerned.

Still sitting on 0mm here, and I can't see anything to stop the first ever 0mm month here now. As for the lawns, most are still green, but those that have been cut in the last week or so have started to go more off colour.

11mm so far, no more to come. After a wet winter there are no real signs of stress in plants yet: we've been mowing the lawn furiously non-stop for the last 5 weeks. sell you some grass, soaring hawk!

Here in Derby there was a little rain on Monday and again for about an hour on Tuesday last week - but it was just of the drizzly kind, so probably clocked about 1-2mm!!!

According to long range forecasts the HP we have had over us is set to hold with May being another month with very low rainfall and above average temperatures. What does this mean for the water situation???

We've got the Derwent Dam to supply water for this region but eventually if we have many more months like April then a lot of people are going to be struggling, especially in the south east. No real sign of rain either.

April Total -1.2mm , only one very short lived shower on the 26th, only lasting about 5 minutes, and covering an area 4 miles wide and 15 miles long according to the Netweather radar. Looks like another dry month has just started, sunglasses and watering cans out! :o

Stations round here in the Thames Valley seem to have recorded around 0.5-1mm for the entire month. Here in Reading I experienced a single shower on the evening of April 25 with light rain lasting about 40 minutes.

What a contrast, the driest month since August 1995 followed by two top ten wettest months and the wettest May-June period on record.
