It will turn wet in the Lincolnshire area shortly according to the radar. The South coast is drying up.

Moderate rain here turned much lighter here now as the rain band moved west. More to come from the southeast later.

Just heard on Radio Gloucestershire that the majority of Roads into Cheltenham are flooded/flooding! Passable with care though!

Looking at the radar sequence for the past few hrs I cannot believe how much rain is falling.

Just started to see heavy rain here but this seems more like a light shower compared to what some of you are seeing. if anyone has some pics please post them. :D

Hi Dave,

Yes, and shows that the Meto were absolutely right to issue early weather warnings.

Normally I would wish for extreme weather, but I think I will give this one a miss thank you.

apart from the odd storm that is.

Hope everyone doesnt need this but in case..

What to do when you hear a flood warning :

listen out for warnings on radio and TV and phone Floodline on 0845 988 1188 for more information

move pets, vehicles, valuables and other items to safety

alert your neighbours, particularly the elderly

put sandbags or flood boards in place, but make sure your property is ventilated; plug sinks/baths and put a sandbag in the toilet bowl to prevent backflow

be ready to turn off gas and electricity (get help if needed); unplug electrical items and move them upstairs if possible

co-operate with emergency services and local authorities - you may be evacuated to a rest centre

do as much as you can in daylight; doing anything in the dark will be a lot harder, especially if the electricity fails

There's a Pushtun proverb that says when the floodwaters reach your chin, put your son beneath your feet. You know, if the above fails. In case that helps anyone.

btw there should be a smily with an umbrella

Not raining here.

Wind map suggests wind converging from different directions SSW London.

Hi Al, my goodness is that Dorcan Way? We've got ponds appearing all over the garden, but our neighbours have a stream running through. You can't distinguish between road and pavement at the end of our road. I've never seen anything like it! And still the heavy rain continues!

After my earlier report of rain starting in Norwich, that stopped and not much since. I'm hoping this stuff will move up the central part of the UK and miss eastern counties. Not good for thoses parts though with the recent downpours.

i think your right gmg had this done its worst in Hull, Sheffield, North Lincs and Doncaster it would have been total carnage - it may well be yet down south but lets hope some lessons were learnt the hard way.

The intensity of the rain is increasing...but nowhere near as bad as some places I'd imagine. Still pretty heavy though and I'm hoping the storms will reach here later on.

Looks like a covergance line formed behind the rain stretching from SW Wales right down to the IOW. Another area of cells forming in South Devon
