Thunderstorm here in the last hour.

Quite localised two CB cells that developed over Uttoxeter and travelled north overhead here.

Torrential rain for around 15 minutes.

Cells have moved to the north east towards Ripley/Matlock area and no thunder heard since 18:50

Today had warm sunny periods until about 15.00 with max of 21c.

Since then the cloud has increased slowly from the SW with dark showery skies nearby and there was one shower about an hour ago.

Temp now 18c.

The seasonal dry spell, which began here at 3:30am on July 29th has just been brought to an end, with 1mm of rain between 19:00 and 19:20. This is the longest time we have gone without rain since early June, when 11 consecutive dry days were recorded.

A couple of rumbles of thunder accompanied the brief downpour.

It's currently a breezy 14 degrees, which is 8 degrees cooler than it was this time yesterday.
