Just wondering how I find out my locations height above sea level?

Hi Shaun, one of the best ways to find this out is by using google earth, which you can download for free here:

I have Google earth, how do I use this to find out my height asl?

You just need to zoom it to your postcode and then point the mouse at the centre (where your house it) and it'll show the height asl at the bottom of the screen.

Best bet is to look at google earth or your local OS map, the metcheck asl is not very acurate - it lists me as 71m.

I only live 76M asl.

Just down the road quarter of a mile its only 12M.

I live practically in the glaciated valley, no chance of snow for me on average.

About a mile up the road it's 166M asl.
