They having been upgrading from GRIB1 to GRIB2. They were supposed to be finsishing the work at 9pm, however, this is what their message has been changed to...

Sorry, we're currently working on the servers...

OK, an update for ya. Everything is going smoothly with regards to the upgrade from GRIB1 to GRIB2, however it has taken longer than we expected. We are now on target to be back online at 5pm (Tuesday 27th November) Sorry guys!

If you need a weather fix NOW! then check out our new baby site Weather2U.com.

Surely they mean 5am? or 5pm on Wednesday?

Afternoon all...happy new year.

Yesterday, the Met Office outlook stated that any snow will move away by the 7th.....it's a bit later on todays....

UK Outlook for Sunday 6 Jan 2008 to Tuesday 15 Jan 2008:

The period will start with generally unsettled conditions with rain or showers at times, possibly heavy in the north and west, although the south and east may see some clearer spells. Occasional snowfalls may occur in the north and over hills. However, by later in the week (11th January) any snow should have moved away, allowing a somewhat milder west or southwesterly airstream to cover the country. It is likely to be unsettled at times, however, with showers or longer spells of rain, as well as some strong winds. Northwestern parts of the UK will see the most unsettled and windiest weather with the best of the drier, brighter interludes occurring across southeastern parts. These conditions are likely to continue through the remainder of the outlook.

Metcheck... Forecasters Warning

-- Snow / Ice --

Areas Affected: Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England.

There is now a growing threat (40%) of the first significant wintry outbreak of 2008 across the UK towards the end of this week.

Snow, combined with ice could bring disruption to parts of the UK from Thursday as Arctic air pushes South.

This Weather Watch will be updated during the week as we monitor the risk.

Those travelling towards the end of the week are advised to monitor weather forecasts over the next few days.
