thick freezing fog so no lovely sunrise today; another white frost with a low currently at -5.4C, so 4 air frosts consecutively and 3 of them below -5C. Not often that happens here. Maybe the first time in the 12 years of weather reports?

The day started clear and frosty, fog formed around 08.00 and lasted until 11.00. Since then there has been unbroken sunshine with max of 9c.

Frost forming on cars now, sky mostly clear but low level mist tells of fog forming soon, 2c.

Moderate frost and freezing fog overnight and this morning, Minimum overnight air temperature –4.2c, grass minimum –9c.

At 9am, very cold with a moderate frost and freezing fog. The morning and after continued misty, overcast and very cold, the maximum temperature only made 0.0c for 1 aprox 1 min, before falling back below freezing, so not quite an ice day here. Currently, misty and very cold, temperature -1.7c.

Note of Interest, there were reports of light snowfall around 08:00hrs from south-western areas of Burton.

As dense freezing fog was widespread throughout the area today, it seems that a possible pollutant was causing a seeding effect on the freezing fog, thus causing light snow to precipitate out, a quote from one source saying that more than 1CM of snow had fallen in an hour.
