HUGE flakes here, some the diamater of a small glass, sticking in the less wet places, looknig nice. Blizzards at times.

The flakes before were also around the size of a 10 year olds fist

It has been some day up here for the snow.

We now seem to be under a fourth band of heavy persistant snow. Again it is accompained by strong winds. We did have a break of about 1 hour, but it has returned, and again it seems to be heavier than the last band.

Almost all schools in the North of scotland were closed today, and they have already issed reports that most will be closed tomorrow as the forecast is so bad. Countless numbers of roads are closed.

My office is just opposite a lorry park, I was speaking to some of the drivers at lunch time, and they are now all prepared just to sit and wait it out, they say the roads are just too bad to even attempt going North or South...

Small snow shower at 1115am but nothing since, light drizzle falling with an area of blue skies to the north behind that, In Central london at work but when I left east essex there was a covering on the ground.

At last, it did actually snow in Lancaster, albeit only 1cm. The snow struggled to settle as temperatures during the snow shower were close to 1C, but there were blizzards at times, similar to those I saw on the east coast on 22 December 2003.

Now that the snow cleared, it's got colder (0.1C) and clear sky is advancing from the north.

I can't say it's disappointing given that less than an hour ago it looked like we wouldn't get anything at all other than drizzle.

Very heavy snow here, and settling. Started as rain, then sleet and now snow.

Looking at the radar image on the front page, the third band seems to have almost disapeared as it went over the central highlands.

Looks like I will have to walk home tonight, as the road is now closed to traffic, it's only about 2 miles so it won't be too bad

Was very heavy rain & thunder,

Now turned to sleet, and as i'm typing this it's turning more to snow :D

It's now a white out, just started to stick,

But before that we had at least 1/2 hour of rain.

Yep, I can see some cumilonimbus looking clouds in the distance to my north, though they are a long way away.

Its still snowing on and off despite the lack of cloud cover, It must be being blown down off the hills above me by this strong wind.

    Heavy blizards

You must be a bit above SL Stephen - absolute zilch here - apart from rain that is.
