absolutely lovely day here, the 6th with no more than a light breeze and just patchy Cirrus cloud again,

the 7th in a row with over 22C and the 4th with over 25C,

highest since 8 August 2007 and the 2nd highest since September 2006.

never been seen this early in the year in this area, records from 1942.

My records agree with that, John, this spell is unprecedented for the first half of May. Today saw a max' of 22.6c, the highest of the year so far and just short of 22.9c on the 4th in 2006; it's the 3rd day above 21c and the most on record for the whole month is 5 in 1964.

Finally had some decent warmth today, temps have struggled all week

Today is the first day with 20c+ recorded this year, lovely and sunny all day and a warm breeze that kicked in this afternoon ( Got a Little sunburnt as you do ), was 20c at 9:30 this morning, 17.8c currently going more humid again, hopefully it will hit 20c or above tommorow B)

the numbers for May here are; Temps of above 22C

1944=5 days(26-30th)

1947=4 days(last 4)

1978=5 days(last 5)

1995=5=3rd-7th; the only one earlier than this year

this year so far = 7 with the last 4 above 25C.

those are for RAF Finningley with none since I started recording fully in January 1997 until this year.
