Dry and warm to begin with, though with a good deal of high cloud making the sunshine watery. The cloud thickened toward reading time blotting out the sun completely with a few spots of rain. Further bursts of moderate rain continued through the morning and in to the afternoon, feeling very warm and muggy with little brightness. The evening and night saw further outbreaks of moderate rain. The maximum temperature, 22.8c. maximum wind gust 24mph SE. Rain 11.0mm.

A couple of spells of heavy rain during the early hours of this morning, the second of which, between about 0130 and 0210 g.m.t, was accompanied by a thunderstorm centred about 10-12 miles east of here. Rainfall from 1800-0900 this morning was 9.5 mm.

After a fairly sunny start to the morning it became cloudy after 0730 with one or two light showers but the cloud broke again by late morning and the rest of the day was dry with sunny intervals, lengthening into long sunny periods to end the day as the cloud dispersed.
