The last couple of days have seen some nice Autumn weather but back in the start of October 1908 all the country was experiencing a "Classic" Indian Summer with temperatures widely into the 70sf as was the case from this extract....post-6830-1223814196_thumb.jpg As can be seen from the synoptic chart back then the whole of the UK was affected by a big European high much more dominant than we have right now.... :)

Interesting, but unlike now, 1908 was a pretty cool year.

For anyone looking for simularities between October heatwaves and winter cold spells (from which I believe there are ones) October 1908 ended up warm (11.8c CET) and the winter that followed was cold;

December 1908 3.9c

January 1909 3.5c

February 1909 2.9c

Add a degree onto todays climate.
