An exceptionally mild December night with a temperature of 10.6C. We hit a maximum of 11.8C at around 11pm.

Ironically its colder in our flat than this morning when it was 3C due to us being exposed to the wind off of the River Humber.

A clear start with a widespread ground frost. Minimum air temperature 0.2c, grass minimum –2.7c. At observation, bright and frosty. The morning saw some watery sunshine, before a vale of mid level cloud followed during the afternoon, giving a few spots of rain. Feeling chilly in the wind, top temperature until 4pm, 6c.The early evening saw the temperature continuing to rise from the rather chilly in to the mild category by 18:00hrs and becoming wet and windy with the SW wind gusting to 37mph.

Last night's min was 8c, which I suggest happened early on under quite a clear sky, and was the highest min since 21 Nov.

Today is dull and windy from the WSW with drizzly spots in the air and a current temp of 11c.

Mild, dull and damp, i'm loving this mornings BBC 1 forecast with alex deakin, trying to say mild as many times as possible in the very short forecast, i think they have a bet on in the back to see how many times he can say the word mild, when it's cold they usually are very reluctant to use the word and use chilly instead, all very amusing :o

i just want some dry weather now, its 5 days before xmas and its not stopped raining, more like wimbledon finals day, this area sucks completely and is the wettest ever

still not convinced about 23rd dec upto boxing day for stafford, i think it will be wet, no frost and fog at all, as it will be way too cloudy, met office, weatheronline etc are going for frost and fog but that seems wrong, cant be foggy and frosty if a high moves over the uk, with TM air before it
