Overcast and misty with a temperature of 8.3C. Considering we had full cloud cover, last nights minima of 4.4C was rather lower than expected.

It's been a pretty grim day until the last half an hour with fog, mist, low cloud and drizzle throughout the morning. The sun is burning through now, so a sunny afternoon likely. Flat calm and the temperature is rising now at 11.1c after being stuck below 9c until recently. Humidity is dropping as the sky clears, 77% now after being 89% earlier.

I'm in Cambridge today - here the fog has lifted but it's still cool and overcast. After the beautiful weather of the last couple of days in the south I didn't bring a coat with me today and I'm starting to regret it

It's been swept apart from the middle - quite an interesting set of images if you look at 1100-1300.

Gladly the wind has turned away from that nasty easterly direction and so less moisture is being forced inland.

I get the feeling it'll be quite late on before those in the east finally get their sunshine.

I agree with that, up to 16.9c now with unbroken hazy sunshine. Somewhere must be up to, if not above, 18c in those areas that have been sunnier for longer. Anyone?

The day started off very misty (almost foggy) and took its time to clear. Felt very cold this morning too with a temp of just 5C at 9.15am. The mist slowly melted away leaving a blue sky sunshine day. Temp currently 12.3C.Light breeze.

Nice mild springlike day, 14C, took most of the day for the cloud to lift though and i see further north and east its still there and much colder, 14C is really nothing to write about in April though, sunday again looks the best day until it's all downhill again.

Quite an interesting day in Exeter with sunny intervals and fog patches, though it is mainly dull now. I imagine that the Atlantic frontal cloud must be coming overhead by now.

Wonderful hazy sunny day with blue cloudless sky and a max of 16c dust rising behind the rollers. Not worried about soil moisture because on our boulder clay soils we could go another month without rain especially after what seems to have been a fairly wet previous 9 months as just below the surface soils are quite damp.

I just love "visible sat pics! todays northsea cloud is clearly seen by late morning across the uk ,but some holes developing and the latest shows northsea cloud still out over the sea, but that front out in the west of the uk has got some deeper convective cloud as can be seen, and a very distintive backedge to that front,,,,,,,...next on the menu will be showers....!
