WEATHER ALERT

THIS IS A FURTHER UPDATE TO THE ALERT ISSUED ON FEBRUARY 22ND 2004:

Category: Level 2 Warning

Weather type: Snow and ice

Affecting: Whole of the UK (especially coasts exsposed to Northerly winds)

Date Valid For: 18:00 Tuesday 23rd February to 00:00 Saturday 28th February 2004

Discussion: Following on from the earlier alert ( http://www.net-weather.co.uk/forum/viewtop...opic.php?t=5381 ), we expect conditions to slowly worsen across much of the UK as we head through the mid-week period. Northern and Eastern areas look like being affected worst, with heavy, and at times squally, showers working their way along the coasts mostly, but further inland at times in Scotland. Accumulations will be significant (5-10cm in places), especially in those places exposed to Northerly winds.

In addition, ice will be a problem as temperatures fall rapidly overnight in all areas.

Due to the unpredictable nature of this set-up, please stay tuned to Net-Weather for possible updates as the developing situation becomes clearer.

Confidence Level: (70%)

Note: This alert should be considered a guide and we strongly recommend you stay tuned to the Met-Office for further warnings and updates.

Expect further updates as and when needed.
