A fairly cloudy start in Exeter following the clouding over last evening, but the sun is getting to work- it may well end up as another sunny day.

Sunny and warming up nicely after an overnight minimum of 5.7. Unlike yesterday there was no fog on the way to work in Basingstoke this morning.

Indeed it does look as though many of us with unscreened thermometers registered higher temperatures yesterday than anything official - perhaps because of the lack of wind - so I'm not taking my reading too seriously. Interestingly, when we get very hot days at well over 30 deg C my thermometer actually tends to read lower than nearby sites constructed to more professional standards - for example, on August 10 2003 Reading University recorded 36.8 but I only got 35.0. The same happened in July 2006. I guess some research will have been done into temperatures measured using screened vs unscreened equipment - anyone know of such research?

Started quite hazy here in bristol but now it is just blue sky and sunshine. Quite breezy though, so it is actually quite chilly outside. It is only about 12-13 degrees, so I'm hoping in a couple of hours the temps will push up a bit. Can't wait till we get into the 20's!

A bit more haze around than yesterday, presently nice and warm, 15c was around 13.5c this time yesterday. Might just reach 20c by 4-5pm but might end up just under, depends if the cloud builds again.

Cloud has spilled over from the west here, mostly cloudy now with barely any sunshine. 15.0C. If it was sunny, it would probably be up into the 20s by now

Its the warmest day of the year so far here, with a current temperature of 15.4C.

It was foggy early on again, with a min of 4.9C, but quickly burnt off before 9am and allowed the temperature to soar.

Its still rather hazy, but otherwise clear and sunny.
