A mainly dry and cloudy morning, just one brief and very light shower around 1015 g.m.t. Sunny intervals developed during the early afternoon and it felt remarkably warm and humid for a short time between 1400 and 1430 before the wind suddenly increased to f3-4 from the north and it became overcast as an area of heavy showers moved north to the east of me.

Showers arrived by 1530 g.m.t and between 1645 and 1800 g.m.t there was a prolonged period of heavy rain with thunder heard to the north east, perhaps around Chesterfield, on several occasions between 1745 and 1800; no lightning seen though. About 11mm of rain fell in the hour between 1700 and 1800 g.m.t.

Clear spells last night. Sunny spells early today, then mostly cloudy with a few sunny intervals. In Aberystwyth there was just a couple of showers, but I could see the action passing by inland. Back home checked the gauge to find 13.8mm, 10mm falling between 14-1500. Bet there was some thunder, the wife did not hear it, so I will have to check with my neighbour! Mild this morning, turned cool late afternoon. Light to moderate NE breeze.

Not a bad day in the main, rather cloudy for my liking though. Temps got above 17 degrees at noon.

This evening has been dismal, we have had light rain on and off since about 6pm, but the worse aspect has been how dark and gloomy it has been, not June feeling at all, hopefully we won't see many similiar evenings this month.

Anoter fine day here near the coast with a light easterly wind . Plenty of convectional showers inland all day but we were mostly dry all day with about 15c max .The nights recently have been very cool averaging a min of 4c and sometimes lower . This has almost halted growth and with a rising soil moisture deficit crops are maturing too fast in order to produce seed for survival of the plant in the future and are unlikely to yield well so if this is repeated across the northern hemisphere grain prices could take off again.

In Suffolk we had a series of torrential downpours lasting about 1/2 hour each and a couple of claps of thunder. Really fantastic as we've been dry since first week in May — the garden's revived and my water butt's full again. Happy days... but it could do with warming up a bit more.

Sounds like most areas have been having a better day than us. Mainly cloudy and wet, with a few bright spells around lunchtime. Currently 12.6, maximum 18.1, last night's minimum 11.6. Wind light variable. It's still raining out there now...
