After all the usual talk about hopes for "settled" weather, I can report that it is very settled here in Exeter at the moment. Hardly any wind, no chance of rain, quite warm, and high pressure in charge.

And no sign of the sun, and featureless stratus. Yawn.

The morning dawned very wet underfoot after rain overnight. Minimum Temperature 9.5c. The morning has been bright with sunny spells with cumulus clouds building, enough to produce a short light shower just before the observation. Sunny spells continued through the day and became more prolonged as the cloud dissolved away, feeling quite pleasant with the temperature reaching 17.4c. Maximum wind gust, 22mph, WNW.

Similar story to Gloucester here - mostly cloudy with some bright spells after a cool sunny start. Temperature around 18 deg C after an overnight minimum of 8.1. Wind light variable.

Yesterday - partly cloudy and breezy, feeling pleasant in the sunny spells. Maximum 20.9, minimum 10.6. Wind moderate W.

In the meantime...for me and 'Mrs S' it's all eyes on the charts for Saturday June 20 - that's when we're getting married! At the moment the charts are looking much better that recently, but could it all change again? Over to the experts - any comments on the prospects for Berkshire on June 20 welcome!

A better day than expected so far with sunny spells and feeling rather warm, it has been fairly cloudy but from about 11:50am to 12:30pm there was unbroken sunshine.

Was cold and mostly clear last night with a low of a chilly 3.8c

And now in Exeter we have a little drizzle. Looking closely it stems from a frontal system to the SW, it's just as well I didn't make any specific weather predictions for the Exeter area for today as that feature passed me by! My forecast of dry sunny weather in north-east England is holding strong though.
