While travelling acrosss the Dartford bridge yesterday at about 9am, we saw this strange, dark coloured, line in the sky....it was very defined and straight. Bit like a con trail, but much thicker and very dark grey.

Does anyone have any ideas what it was or how it occurred?

All ideas gratefully received....

It could be a shadow cast by a contrail, Roo?

You know, that's what it looked like it should be, but I wasn't sure if that could happen. Thanks for that Pete. :)

It's just a darker part of the cloud maybe a Arcus cloud/Shelf Cloud
