A stunning sunrise with clear skies in Eastbourne. Fog increasing inland, very dense in places. Autumn has truly arrived here: Daddy Long Legs in the lounge, sloe gin prepared and bottled for Christmas, leaves are turning some fantastic colours and I found my first conker of the year yesterday at Pevensey Castle. I reckon it's a sixer - anybody up for a conker fight?

Cloudy start, currently 12.6c overnight low of 10c. Looks like a mainly cloudy day with some sunny breaks. BBC are still saying 20-21c like they've done all weekend when I've not recorded a temp over 18c and even the local metoffice station didn't record anything higher than 18.5c yesterday either, they seem to be in their own little world again.

After a clear and cool night, low, 4.3c and 2.1c on the grass, thick fog down to 100 yards visibility formed around dawn, which quickly lifted in to low cloud making for a dull start. At observation, becoming brighter with the low Stratus thinning and breaking. The morning and early afternoon continued bright with sunny spells. From mid afternoon onwards, more cloudy conditions prevailed, though still with a few bright or sunny spells. Maximum temperature 17.5c, maximum wind gust, 14mph, WNW.
