Because scotland is much higher and further north than northern ireland, but last night they had no cloud about from 4pm so they dropped much lower than we did. Minimum of 5.6c here, quite chilly but still awating first ground frost.

Light showers quickly spread to the area which continued in to the afternoon. There were a few brief sunny spells also, maximum temperature 11.4c. Maximum wind gust 18mph W.
