Being a young whippersnapper myself, I don't remember it. :p

I think that is why I find old weather events very fascinating.

Drive over the bridge at Pensford on my way to work, there's a bench mark on one of the walls marking the water level - scarily high! The buggers hid a new speed camera last week, just around the corner from the bridge.

It pays to live on top of hills in Somerset, the valleys seem to flood all the time.

Just come across this thread and thought i could add something.I come from dartford and remember the floods well.My dad was a taxi driver there in the sixties and liked to take cine films.I am in the process of uploading them to you tube, and one of them contains some film of the flood.
