Hmm, I was doubting the Great Langdale pictures above, but on closer inspection it would appear to be confirmed by the snow lasting till this afternoon in the neighbouring Little Langdale valley at a similar altitude of only around 110-120 metres. Click on 'recent images' to see the snow really coming down for a while yesterday evening.

Temps of -4oC at 9 am this morning with a light snow flurry on already very frozen ground, a beautiful sight with mostly clear skies and the Cairngorm Mountains covered in snow...lovely to live in Scotland!!! Temp at 1240 is still a lovely 0oC with little show of the frost moving except in sunlit areas

Brief but heavy hail shower here at 3am, followed up by what looked liked sleet for a 10 minute spell. Temperature currently 2.4C.
