Hi Schmac

Seeing snow now isnt necessarily indicative of snow later today as we see a temporary potential rise in dew points, though it should be noted 6z NAE has lessened the effect of the warmer sector by a degree or so

Wiltshire it wouldnt surprise me, however, to see a fairly decent covering as the afternoon progresses, it looks likely to be predominantly bristol northwards, however i would say this rule generally has about 25 miles give or take either way judging by the dramatic changing of precip positioning in recent modelling, so i'd say you could have a fair covering by evening

Hope that helps

SK

Thanks very much for that!... Sounds like a very marginal situation for these parts then!

Still, it's been nice to see the snow that we've had this morning... I think we've been very lucky in this area (probably due to the slight height advantage!).

Snow easing off here now though... Much lighter and smaller flakes...

Everything still white with a good centimetre or two of snow!

Well these have been the biggest snowflakes I have seen in a long long time. About 1cm settled on the ground now.

Super stuff!! Thanks very much for sharing that; I loved the clock chiming as well, so peaceful! We had flakes like that in early January which carried on for about 6 hours hence a lot of snow accumulation! Thanks again. good.gif

Snowing here since about 8am this morning. Wet snow which took a while to give a white covering. Easing off now with small flakes coming down.

Friend on Brendon Hills has had snow all night and is snowed in up there! Apparently Minehead has nothing, just rain.

Hope there is more - sorry for anyone having trouble for work - but for the children on half term it's great fun!!

Hi, doggy!

It started of as just a bit of sleety stuff here and then in no time at all it turned to snow. HUGE flakes. Now it is settling nicely. It seems to be spreading from the South so I'd imagine you'll be getting your snow before long! drinks.gif

Morning Val,smile.gif (and dogs too!)

It looks like an 'anything can happen' sort of day today. The warnings put out for snow are just guides in this situation because this sort of set-up is a mare to forecast ahead. So expect the unexpected!

Hope you have a carrot and a few pieces of coal to hand later. Enjoy it!cold.gif

This time last week it was fun and games in my area, so good to see the snow is being shared aroundbiggrin.gif

Will be interesting to see what happens tonight.

The SAT24 sat image is showing a LOT bubbling up down south ready to move north..

Once this line passes it shoudl cool down and then even more will move north..

Howe far east it reaches though......

Cars and grass going white, coming down really heavily. The roads have a thick layer of slush.

Very interesting day coming up, better do my shopping now methinks :wallbash:
