    Mid-March 1884 saw a southerly plume across the UK bringing high maxima for the time of the year.

    Here were some of the maxima recorded on the 16th

    Leicester: 20.7C

    Helsey Hall: 20.6C

    Norwich: 20.6C

    Boston: 20.0C

    Camden Square: 20.0C

    Llandudno: 19.7C

    Stratfield Turgiss: 19.7C

    Orleton: 19.3C

    Skipton: 18.9C

    Dumfires: 17.4C

    Oban: 16.7C
