Rain yesterday afternoon that became heavy for about an hour, some drizzle in the morning. Total 14.4mm.

Currently Dull, grey, misty and drizzly with some very low cloud. Seems to be a bit cooler here near the south coast than some places inland even last night oddly enough, probably because the sea temps are slightly cooler so the air is slightly cooler coming off the sea but somehow turns milder inland. Even Exeter Airport is recording 12C. Some places even now are reporting higher than I've recorded this March, which is 12.1°C.

Temp: 9.5°C

Dew point: 9.4°C

Humidity: 99%

Wind: 9mph gusting 15mph (SSE)

Pressure: 1001.5mb

Rain today: 3.8mm

Mild and damp with 10.9c the low now 12.5c.

For the moment I'm enjoying the rain - we've not had any mild rain in such a long time now so it's currently a novelty. In the same way when you get that first cold night in autumn - an enjoyable change but get sick of it after a while.

Gimme a few weeks of on-off mild rain then plenty of sunshine and warmth then watch it all grow!

A grey wet cold windy morning and lunchtime has given way in the last hour or so to dry and bright conditions. The sun has just burst through the clouds as I type. Should be a pleasant late afternoon and this evening looks like becoming quite cold as we see clear skies, with good chance of a ground frost tonight.

Waking up to wet and windy weather this morning felt quite unusual, given how dry and benign the weather has been the past three months, it certainly has made me appreciate how great the winter was in this respect with plenty of sunshine and little rain and exceptionally very little wind.

I am actually quite surprised to see how much the temperature has dropped. The temperatures is currently 8.4C, although it feels warmer than that. Drizzle and rain has invaded the land from the big cloud in the sky. smile.gif
