Started Tuesday May 25th in Colby (Ks) With a chase target of between Liberal and Springfield. Storms fired early again around 2pm and we jaunted down the Dryline to get on the Storm of the day near Springfield (Co). Had great fun down dirt tracks fish-tailing around the western side of the Supercell. Ran into the hail on the road and Hail Fog! Then punched the core to get to the South East side. The structure we saw was incredible with the Classic Supercell lurching towards us at 3mph. Numerous areas of rotation tried to touch down from the Wall Cloud but could not get it done. Another cell then went up to the West and the cells merged. Within 5 Minutes the Storm cranked up to obscene levels and we drove under the base, just to our North West a cone funnel touched the ground, this then morphed into a Wedge Tornado then back to Large Cone and finally rope out stage! The Tornado was on the ground for 15 minutes and was moving from SE To NW Anti cyclonically. We all had our pictures taken in front of the Large Tornado which was just NE Of Walsh in Baco County.

Pat has insane Timelapse Video and I even videoed the whole event.

Fantastic Colorado Magic.

What a fantastic chase, even on a day with low probs of tornadoes you managed to bag a tornado. Certainly made up for the bust yesterday. I am seething with jealousy!

Pleased those cells produced especially after the first cell in Kansas fell apart then reinvigorated and started to become Tornado warned again after you all left it and travelled south.. Well the cone/wedge made up for no doughnuts..!!

Saw 4 landspouts early on, followed by 2 supercellular tornadoes later. All but one of the landspouts were very brief affairs. Pictures to come tomorrow though the landspouts were shot from extreme distance and are slightly low contrast  (100-400L lens comes through again though :D)

These are on different storms to the one the team was on by the way! I chased around the Tribune area.

Awesome day. Total antithesis of the day before. Sitting there for 30 minutes and watching the storm and it barely moves in that time. Better than chasing something doing 90mph away from you!!

Awesome day, and nice to be able to watch the storm grind along instead of blasting past at 100mph. We mud roads provided some entertainment too.

Add to that the fact that I lost my Tornado cherry, and things don't get much better...

Yeh, an amazing day yesterday - we followed the storm for hours and it kept trying to produce a tornado. After slipping and sliding down miles of wet, muddy roads we were finally rewarded though!

Have just uploaded the first video, the footage is cool but the best bit about it is how excitable Paul S gets!

Also, just about to upload is some timelapse video by Pat - if you watch no other videos from the chase this year, you HAVE to watch this one - it's absolutely incredible!!
