UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Apr 2018 to Saturday 5 May 2018:

There is very low confidence in the forecast for the extended outlook, but there is a chance that we will see mainly dry and settled conditions, at least to begin with. There may be some changeable, showery spells at times, but these will still be interspersed with drier and more settled periods. While signals suggest temperatures could be around or a little below average, frosts are likely to be confined to northern areas, with an increasing number of warmer days during any settled spells. The end of April and into early May will bring an increased risk of wet and windy weather. There will be a marked variation in temperature day to day and across the UK, as is typical of the time of year.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 11 Apr 2018 to Friday 20 Apr 2018:

Next week will see showers or longer spells of rain affecting southern parts of the UK, perhaps turning thundery. Northern areas however will probably be drier and more settled, with the best of the sunshine in the west. Eastern parts of the UK will be breezy, with cloudier skies and coastal fog. There will be large variations in temperature, with eastern parts often rather cold, but perhaps quite warm in the west and south sometimes. The following week will then probably see a mix of showery spells interspersed with drier and more settled conditions. Temperatures may be above average generally, and it will be warm at times in any prolonged settled spells of weather towards mid-April.

UK Outlook for Thursday 12 Apr 2018 to Saturday 21 Apr 2018:

The latter part of next week will see showers or perhaps longer spells of rain affecting southern parts of the UK, perhaps turning thundery, but there will be sunny spells at times too. Northern areas however will probably be drier and more settled, with the best of the sunshine in the west. Eastern parts of the UK will be breezy, with cloudier skies and coastal fog. There will be large variations in temperature, with eastern parts often rather cold, but in the west and south it will be warm sometimes. The following week will then probably see a mix of showery spells interspersed with drier and more settled conditions. Temperatures should be above average for most, and northeastern areas especially will see a rise in temperatures.

UK Outlook for Friday 13 Apr 2018 to Sunday 22 Apr 2018:

Friday and next weekend will see mostly cloudy conditions across central and northern areas with occasional rain and showers. However, conditions will probably turn drier and brighter from the south with time. This will leave a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, locally heavy with thunder, especially in the south. Eastern and northeastern parts of the UK will be breezy, with cloudier skies and coastal fog. There will be large variations in temperature, with eastern and northeastern parts often rather cold, but in the west and south it will be warm at times. The following week will then probably see a mix of showery spells interspersed with drier and more settled conditions. UK Outlook for Monday 23 Apr 2018 to Monday 7 May 2018:

Probably fine, dry and settled to start the period with sunny spells and a small chance of rain or showers. Temperatures are also likely to be above average for the time of year. Towards the end of April and into May conditions will probably become more unsettled with an increased chance of rain and strong winds. However, details of where the unsettled conditions will be or how long they will last are currently very uncertain. Temperatures are also likely to return to close to average through late April into early May, although marked variations in temperature from day to day are likely as Atlantic weather fronts move across the country.

UK Outlook for Saturday 14 Apr 2018 to Monday 23 Apr 2018:

Next weekend, any early fog will soon clear next Saturday morning, with bright or sunny spells developing for most. Showers are possible, and rain may move into the south and west, with drier conditions across central and southeastern areas. Into the working week, it is likely to become gradually more settled, with dry and probably sunny weather. There will be the chance of windier conditions in the west though, with some rain possible. It will be locally warm in central and southeastern areas, with a marked changed for the east and northeast, where it will be warmer than of late. Colder conditions may return to eastern coasts, but for many, temperatures are likely to be above average towards the end of the period, with a reduced chance of rain.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 Apr 2018 to Wednesday 9 May 2018:

Conditions in late April and the start of May are likely to become unsettled with an increased chance of wet and windy weather, however signals are weak for how long such a spell may continue. While the confidence is low, the most likely scenario is for mixed conditions through early May, with perhaps some longer, drier periods but also a chance of cooler temperatures if a northerly flow becomes established.

UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Apr 2018 to Tuesday 24 Apr 2018:

A changeable picture looks likely at the start of the period with bands of showers moving east across the UK. There will also be drier periods with some sunshine. Eastern areas will benefit from the driest weather and temperatures here could be rather warm. Western areas will be wetter and windier with temperatures closer to normal. By mid-week it will probably become more widely settled with some dry and sunny weather. Western areas will, however be more likely to see some stronger winds and occasional showers. There is a chance that cooler conditions may return to eastern areas later in the week if an easterly wind develops. By next weekend generally fine and dry conditions are most likely to be in place with above-average temperatures.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 Apr 2018 to Monday 14 May 2018:

The weather is likely to be more unsettled at the end of April and beginning of May. Showers or longer spells of rain are expected, which are likely to be most frequent in the northwest, with south-eastern parts of the British Isles still having some decent dry and bright spells. Temperatures are likely to have returned to near average. Confidence in the forecast reduces as we head into May, although mixed conditions are expected, with some showery periods, interspersed by some drier spells. Temperatures are likely to vary quite markedly, perhaps with some cold northerly winds developing for a time during the early to middle part of May.

UK Outlook for Friday 20 Apr 2018 to Sunday 29 Apr 2018:

Friday looks mostly dry and warm, locally very warm, with a good deal of sunshine. However, there is a low risk of a heavy and possibly thundery shower developing in the south. Areas of misty low cloud are also possible around some coasts. A change to more unsettled weather is likely next weekend and into the following week, with temperatures trending back closer to average too. Initially southern and western areas are more likely to see rain or showers developing, although increasingly it will be the turn of the north and northwest to see a deterioration, with some wet and windy weather. South-eastern and some central areas can expect the best of any brighter and warmer weather. Towards the end of April, the weather may become generally more unsettled.
