Stunning distant CB's to me east and southeast. No chance of anything more this evening, pretty miffed at just missing out once more, what makes it worse was it was a potent storm we missed out on. Still, it's always a fun ride and the view of the storm was good. Maybe if there is a nearby(ish) storm when it gets dark I'll be treated to a few distant lightning flashes. I can always hope :)

Bit of lightening and a few rolls of thunder clouded over, but no rain yet.

Though we have had nothing here today, had some nice structures! Just took this pic to the northeast, not sure if its giving anything yet but wouldn't suprise me if it does! Some good convection to my north!

That's it for today here in Cardiff I think. The cell to the North East is moving away. Some very impressive structure and convection, but it's moving off to the East now.

Ugh this storm is going to miss me. I spoke to my mum earlier who's in east london and she said it was pouring down there. I can see the cell from where I am (near Tottenham)

Whats the story with the torro outlook? They suggested that the developments over wales would move SE. This seems counter to everything that we have seen so far. Any thoughts?

Looking at the sferic the cell in North Wales has moved SE and is heading into Herefordshire.

I can see that one and it's virtually overhead - but I think a bit further over towards pontypool way - not sure if it's raining or not, no thunder though, not yet anyway

looks like close but no cigar for me, and other members to the NW of Brum.....The northern flank of those welsh cells are weakening, as they enter an area of markedly weaker convective potential and lift, even added ascent from the frontal boundary probably won't save them...I'd love to be wrong though...To the south of Brum, I'd say you're quids in, to the north? now's the time to start praying!.......nice cloudscapes though, I have an encroaching anvil thats spreads across the entire western skyline

Yeah had huge cells visible to the SW of me all afternoon, one passed over around 4-4.30 yet gave nothing but a few desultory spits of rain. Very poor show considering how big they were. In fact they seemed to just flatten into scattered SC/Cu/Ac as they moved eastward.

The East Midlands you mean. Anything approaching our way is dieing out now.

We have the odd big spot of rain here, no thunder or lightning yet but the sky is looking very dark towards the east of me.
