02/21/2011: Winter's Last Call

As the Atlantic pushed in temporarily for the last week of February, cold air that had been sat over the country was being replaced by milder air from the southwest. A slow moving front brought rain for most of the day but in heavier bursts, snow actually fell, much to my surprise considering the temperature outside was nearly 2C. A continentally influenced airmass had been covering the country, yet, within a few days, maxima would be up to 12-15C countrywide. This was, however, winter's last gasp!
