Could of sworn I just heard a couples of distant rumbles from a very dark mass a few miles north of me. Or it could be my mind playing tricks on me!

Was not my mind. Few rumbles and a torrential downpour. Got excited and went and took some pics!

Had a couple blustery showers here since morning -- but no thunder to be heard yet.

Unless your in parts of East Anglia or parts of the SE, a disappointing day. It might just be me but when showers get going early like today i usually think it will end quite rubbish as convection seems to then get messy thus forming just cloud with only light showers. For most of us that seems to be the case today.

It's about time for the East to get some action. I'm still in the club and eager to get out! A few rumbles from two different cells but that doesn't count as a t-storm in my opinion

Nah. I heard a few rumbles on May 7th and 8th from some isolated showers before I moved to the UK from Canada, but I don't count those as storms. I'm still solidly in the club and have been since last September. Foo.

Thundering here in St. Ives, several rumbles per minute!

two big showers going just above the south coast anyone else see these?

Just had 2 quite heavy downpours with the second being the heaviest! About 10 minutes of torrential downpours!

I only heard one rumble just before the shower came, turned very dark. Back to sunshine now though! dry.gif

Yea just seen this on the radar after your last comment. This is drifting the right way towards me too. May miss by 10 miles but i'm willing to chase it if it intensifies. Any CG lightning in there?

It's hard to tell atm if its CG, it's been in torrential rain, decent hail too. The thunder is still ongoing :).

I know a perfect spot to watch incoming weather from Cambridge way. Gonna give it 20 mins and then go out and watch it come towards us. Fingers x'd it keep it's intensity up

Good luck, still loud, crisp thunder and lightning here as the storm cell heads east...
