    The hot summer of 1911 extended into the first part of September in the south with another heatwave.

    Some temperature readings

    Camden Square: 92.3F on the 8th

    Tenterden: 90.0F on the 8th

    Pitsford: 91.4F on the 8th

    North Cadbury: 94.2F on the 8th

    Hull: 82.0F on the 7th

    Edington: 93F on the 7th

    Hampstead Observatory: 93.2F on the 7th

    CET up to 8th September 1911: 17.5C (final CET: 13.9C)

    According to my book end of August early september 1906 was also very warm/hot

    We have just had a similar heatwave last week here in Edmonton we reached 33c (91f) on the 9th September..the hottest day of the year.

    Eden reports that there was 'appreciable loss of life as a result of gastric and other disorders' due to the heatwave in 1911. The heat and humidity 'probably also contributed to repeated episodes of civil and industrial unrest'.
