A much nicer start to the day today than yesterday, Saturday was spent at the beach so it was a bit of a shock to the system to wake up to rain yesterday! Anyway:

For the third consecutive night the old October highest min' has been exceeded; formerly it had stood for 30 years.

Surprisingly it was an even warmer night at Cleadon, 15.5C min, currently 17.3. Like at John's location there was a striking sunrise (though not as spectacular as last evening's sunset). It is currently cloudy but only about 6/8 oktas cloud cover, so I think I can expect at least a few sunny intervals as the day goes on.

Variable cloud overnight produced a couple of short light showers, though also exceptionally mild. Bright spells to begin with this morning but by observation cloud increased to almost overcast, dry.

The afternoon saw more cloud spread in from the west with a few light showers scattered about the area. The evening continued cloudy with further light showers locally.

Another glorious day with now clear blue sky and therefore unbroken sunshine.

There was some patchy Altocumulus, including Castellanus, until around 09.00 and there's a fresh SSW breeze.

Another corking day with lots of sunshine but with a breeze on. 25c the max so far. Really getting too used to this now... it's almost normal!

23.3C here today. Bit gusty tho with an average wind speed of 21mph. Looking forward to colder days and nights. Feels strange when its so warm yet everywhere looks so autumnal.
