Just had a thin squall line go through here(Surrey) was pretty potent with very gusty winds made a right racket outside with banging of whatever and howling trees! short it was but very heavy while it went through, for interest to anyone that wants to see it on radar then check back to the Met office 4am radar, shows up nicely there.http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html

edit..

7c as I awake this morning with a dew point of 3c. Definitely a chill in the air, very strong breeze from the wnw. Expecting a high of 12-13c today under very strong gusts so will be a shock to the system.

OON please, what's your current dewpoint?

Still 7.4c here and clear with a dew point of 3.8c. Much cloud to the west and I'm hoping for sunshine and blustery showers to be rampant here today.

Sorry - missed this. My dewpoint is now 5.3º but it was 3.3º. Can't tell if there's any snow on Cross Fell because I can't see it due to cloud. But it is the fist nasty day of the autumn and still only 6.4º.

Annoyingly, it won't be our first single-digit maximum of the season today whatever happens, because at midnight, it was 10.2º.

You may get to 10c in the day anyway. Anyone know if any one of them damn showers will get pass the pennines? I was looking forward to blustery showers and some hail. I'm so envious of GWW currently, or anyone north or west of the pennines infact.
