Made this for you hope it helps,

Click choose a file,

After picking a file do this,

Then after uploading them you should see the files,

To place them in the post just click add to post and the image will go there.

Hope this helps.

Just to add --make sure your curser is flashing in the place you want the tbnail to appear in your post before you click-add to post.

I'm sure it's me being terribly thick, but for the life of me I just cannot work out how to post thumbnailed pictures within this forum - ironically the images in Weathermaster's post from Dec 2011 appear to be broken lol.

Can anybody spare five minutes to explain the process?

To upload images you need to go to the full post editor by clicking the 'More Reply Options' button next to the post button, in there you'll find the upload controls beneath the main posting screen, it's then simply a case of hitting the upload button and choosing the image you want to upload, you'll then be able to click to add that image to your post.

There's more info on the help page under posting :)
