Yep Darren

Loving the Old Skool 1980's synoptics atm!

Update from the business end of the Estuary. Cloud much thicker out over towards the North Sea (6 miles as the crow flies)

Wind is picking up and quite breezy from the ENE

Temp : 0.3c

Dp : -6.2c

Interestingly here at the Estuary end the wind is 12mph from the ENE & NOT NE!

rain & sleet TBH

Looks like a Kent Streamer...

I've been so engrossed in the MO thread, didnt notice whats popped up under our noses, although had noticed the ppn further north over The Wash. Did think this morning ,something might stir after midnight.

Much earlier in the day had thought a little competition might be good fun, i.e naming the location with the deepest snow from say midnight tonight until midnight Friday but didnt want to jinx things. Looking at the situation around lunchtime I thought I might have to base it on number of snowflakes observed or worse still, oktas of cloudcover! Things seem to have perked up quite a bit since then.

.Btw, guess the location + depth in our region only, London and Home Counties,i.e Essex, Herts, Bucks, Berks, Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

My guess would've been Deting Hill and 5 cms but might have to read the form again, as the situation has changed again from this afternoon.

Just a bit of fun.

Regards,

Tom.

On a more serious note. Please keep an eye on elderly folk, things are not as they used to be as we are all so busy these days. Back in the 80s we all shopped and kept an eye on our local old guys and girls.

Go on, it will make you feel good.

He has been forecasting streamers since October! Only pulling yer leg Steve, bit of banter is fun!

I love the way Steve and a few others have called this spell, it certainly shows who can and cannot read the Models well and also shows up the Wind Up Merchants very easily!

Ah those charts from the Met Office this morning really is interesting, thats certainly the Met Office going for a streamer, they've probably seen this sitaution many times and know full well that the models under-estimate such features.

Lol @ Tom

I should have saved them for looking back on that Horror Show!

I did actually save some Golf Ball Sized Hail that fell on Sat 17th July 2004 from a Supercell in Essex and they kept quite well in the freezer until the kids used them in some lemonade juice drink whilst I was at work.

1st Prize : Steve's Chocolate Teapot

2nd Prize : Paul's Polystyrene Balls

3rd Prize : A ride in Yamkins Gritter around Croydon!
