Been without electric since 6pm. Nice to see some proper snow though even if in candle light. Got about 8cm so a pleasant surprise.

I also don't believe today is the last chance for further snowfalls this spring, indeed we could end up with a snowy scene mid-late next week as we see a proper northerly plunge take hold.. you heard it here..

thanks D

i will have to revert to repotting my bonsai trees for the forseeable future

Very noticeable rain/snow shadow to the west of the Pennines on the forecast charts backed up by the radar images.

Here south of Warrington in north Cheshire the cloud is actually quite broken.

Light sleet/snow here now (can't quite tell which).

Aaron whats your location in Leeds?

Near Thorpe Park, not far from the M1. Was big flakes but has become hail/sleety again, must only snow in heavier bursts

Been snowing for a good 1 1/2 hours now but not settling, NAE suggests we will just miss out, going to be close though and may get suprised.

Hard to tell exactly how heavily it's snowing because the wind has got up so it's driving it horizontally and whipping up what's already laying. Full cover now though, temp down to -0.6c.

All but stopped now, hope it stays away for now so the ground can dry out a bit in time for the main band

Covering of snow here, pepped up around 10pm, really windy too!

Been snowing here a good while, no covering on roads or pavements, patchy on other things, must be your extra 400ft that is doing the trick.

Still sleety rain here although looking at the radar it does like we should see it stop as we move into a dry patch.

Will be interesting to see if the temperature drops in that time.

It reminds me of that friday afternoon in Late Jan, beggar all here, went to oldham centre, rain, but on the way back it was belting down Austerlands, Scouthead, nothing uppermill center apart from sleet wet snow, had race against time to get back again and really was belting down, as soon as i got near Manchester North, there was rain though, away for weekend, came back sunday night and the pennines were white.

BBC seemed more positive just now that disruption around the usual Pennine routes are in-order by the morning. Currently drizzle here, but with slight-moderate northeasterly winds.

Front has finally flattened out to sea and moved a little south so we should now see more westerly movement as it moves south.

First sign of this will be York getting the precipitation to its east.

I would say 2-3am with a possible dry slot between about 1-2am.

Barring the city centre it seems like the snow line is in the 100-150m range at the moment.

A little disappointing so far but pretty confident that some snow could develop as the night moves on.
