as far as I know yes-the summary is the constantly updated data from the davis in the garden

I understood this then updated, in my case, every 10 mins, and you can watch it apparently doing this every 10 mins, going through all the history for each variable but I cannot access this, its stuck at 1010 on 26/02/12.

prior to that it would no auto update but I could switch the Weatherlink off, double click on its icon, the summary was there and if I clicked on any of the other items, such as plots, browse data etc and the data was there to the last update time?

But if you load the graphs in weatherlink theres nothing or an error message

I can presume the Wind is now working again?

the graphs are there-stuck at 1010 on 26/02/12

yes the wind seems to be recording again, I THINK it started showing a geuine direction about 1 to 1.5 hr ago; showing SSW then W then N and now NNE, the most variation since it started playing up.

I'm less worried about the wind direction than the non updting of the rest of the stuff

date on the envoy?

do you mean a date stamp on it or something else

if its date stamp=none

if its the date of the last report it has no date time stamp on the summary and the last date time is as I said before on browse at 1010 26/02/12

theone below shows it updating all data including history a few mins ago but that only goes into the summary?

so to be honest I don't know what you are referring to.

The envoy has it's own clock. If the date and time is wrong on that it won't help matters. This should be under setup. You'll need to close the bulletin first to get at the option.

Thats good.

Since you've done the battery/mains reset trick at the beggining it's probably not worth while doing it again.

Can I presume you just load directly to the internet and a php script on your web site creates the web page. Looking at your page suggests that.

So make a note of your internet settings from within weatherlink.

rename the folder by right clicking on the folder within explorer.

Install the weatherlink from your orginal CD.

Don't install it to the renamed folder.

Restart the weatherlink and setup it up with your envoy.

Is the bulletin working now?

Setup > internet settings and whatever profile you've got setup.

Yup weatherlink 5.4u cd will do.

Make a note because if re-installing works you'll need to enter them in again.

Well we can do a test run too see if it works. If it does we'll rename the new folder to weatherlinknew and then rename the old back to it's orginal name. Then when you get the password you can copy the old data bar the corrupted one across.

LOL looks my wind direction and speed have died a death as well. Great why does it happen overnight so you don't have time too look at it.

The anemometer is most definitely the weakest link in the Davis stations. In the 2 years Ive had the VP2 Ive had a wireless anemometer transmitter and anemometer itself fail on separate occasions. Fortunately the transmitter was still in warranty, but the anemometer wasnt and I had to buy a new one.

well good and bad news regarding my Davis

After many many e mails and also (thanks) for the comments in here, bewteen us all I seem to have sorted the auto set up.

To me it looks like it stems from the update Microsoft did in the early hours 2 weeks or more ago. It knocked out my front page on my web site and no matter what the web team did it could not be found-an expensive rebuild was required. It also stems from that time when I lost the auto update availability. Its now backafter trying all manner of things-no fault with the data logger simply somehow the settings had been altered. Like I say the time it started was the same time as the other problem.

Re the wind direction-nope still u/s. Now looking at several ideas from davis to try and check-then I suspect its the mast down. It may be the potentiometer I am told. If it is its possible but probably not that friend in the electric business may be able to help. More like it will have to be replaced or I may simply say sod it, during daylight when at home I can see the direction-that is working so I can make a note in my weather diary of it, its just not sending the data into the system-speed is okay.

The joys of AWS systems-okay if you have either a bottomless pocket or are very good at techinicalities of these systems!

Well it was the battery and everythign seems okay. Normally they conked out with a bit of warning first of all.

If my Anemoeter dies it's a huge problem as most ariel people won't go near it as they're only covered for putting TV ariels up. The other idea is a mast in the garden and then you've got the problem of guide ropes. Being afraid of heights is a show stopper for me.
