There was a thunderstorm where i live today by the looks of the reports/radar, and I wasn't here to see it lol.

I did see a storm though - close to Bawtry late this afternoon. Several flashes and bangs plus some torrential rain. No CG's though which is a pity as I was hoping to get some bolts on camera.

Lightning wizard has not worked for me all day so have not been able to ascertain tonights probabilities.

Big dark clouds moving in from the east. Looking at the radar though, it looks like the Pennines have taken the oomph out of the heaviest downpours (fewer bright colours).

Haha.......unbelievable. Our "storm" has literally just turned into a shower of light rain lasting about a minute. The Cheshire Triangle is as effective as ever!!

Looks like we were about to get a storm about 20 mins ago, then the rain started, very heavy for a while but no thunder or lightning, its as though thunder is not allowed anymore, was very surprised. i have seen a few thunder storms approach years ago and this had all the hallmarks , very humid, defined shelf cloud, very vey dark, and you could see the sheer height of the anvil / convection on approach , but still no thunder , what the heck does it take thesedays. From experience you nearly always hear thunder before the rain starts, thats when I knew it was game over when the rain came, no thunder now

Yes mate it was around that time. It came from Gainsborough direction and moved slightly north of west.

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised! Literally we had about 30 seconds of light rain and that was it!

No thunder here either....still thunderless. Though like I say, the rain was really hammering at one point.

Its the one I was watching from home that seemed to veer slightly west as I watched it then.

Lightning strikes for the day

post-8968-0-30687400-1341522301_thumb.pn

All the models were spot on where the shower activity would be.

Does anyone know if there'll be lightning in tomorrows PPN?

It lost all it's potential East of the M6 tonight.

It has just been continuous rain for the last hour, nothing heavy.

Hope it pushes the humidity up promptly in the morning though
