Heard quite a few rumbles from that storm that crossed the Severn but quite distant. Had a couple of louder crashes and one CG strike. Not bad :)

Looks like the end of the action however a tad more rain is coming by the looks of it. Haven't heard thunder for a while now so I guess that is all for now.

Yeah, Cape is decreasing now. Should hopefully get a sunny evening however!

Storm approaching Basildon, this may have enough of a southerly component to hit Southend in the next hour.

Thats not too bad I guess. So chuffed to see lightning and instant thunder though. Been so long since I saw that. I wonder when the next round is. Charts don't show much but anything can change within a few days so lets see.

You can see the activity being killed off from the NW. It happened here about 2 hours ago.

I wonder if Jane Louise got a storm today with all the reports of storms from that area?

Rumble of thunder here, and the sky is getting darker.

Even Peter Gibbs on BBC N24 said it was an entertaining day today with the MetO lightning detectors going crazy. So to anybody that didn't at least hear a rumble, you have been most unlucky and your day will come. good.gif Especially considering the current situation.

TBH, anywhere north of here has not had much if anything today so although there has been a lot of activity it has all been in the southern half of the uk. I was just on the northern edge and did get a couple of flashes and rumbles.

If you missed out and you live south of a line from the Mersey to the Humber though then I agree you have been unlucky.

I was unlucky but I always new that nothing would happen. I find it hard to believe that my day will come, it won't be this year anyway. Sometimes I think that the members from NW england are the best weather forecasters on here, because the weather here is so predictable.

Still intermittent thunder here coming/going every few minutes, haven't had a day like this in quite a while where it's persisted for longer than 3 hours.

Yes, that post was mainly relating to England and Wales to be fair and of course, there will always be exceptions. I only caught the edge of one thundery cell myself, however, the skies were full of convectiveness (!) and that on its own is enough to make my day. good.gif

Come on Chris R, you'll be put in the NSC for life at that rate. blum.gifNegativity breeds contempt.

Gone quite dark again here, but don't think the parameters are there for thunderstorms here now.
