Yes it was such a strong wind was'nt it, where i am, there is no way you would get a six foot drift, but literally 1 mile away, you can get the big drifts, thats the reason for my enquirey.

We got some 3 ft drifts sometime in 2003 or might have been 2004 — I remember because my dog was a puppy/young dog and he jumped into a ditch full of snow and when I waded in to rescue him, I needed rescuing too! I got covered crawling out and had a long cold walk home.

Showers off and on this afternoon, mostly of rain but some with sleet, hail and very wet lumps of snow in that kind of splat as they hit the ground.

Up to 7.8c earlier, dropped like a stone in the last shower around half an hour ago and now down to 3.4c!

Falling temperature now looks to give me the coldest night of the week so far. 4.9 DgC and dropping like a stone, lets hope there's a lovely frost in the morning to give a crisp edge to the start of the day

I suppose I'm too late for that then ? But I could do with warming up !

I've been stuck in a muddy field trying to get out of Santa Pod, well I wasn't stuck of course just stuck behind the other vehicles that were not 4x4's like mine!

The flame and thunder drag racing was brilliant, apart from a very heavy wintry shower of mostly sleet (which didn't help the bogginess) and a leaky left boot (which I knew nothing about until it was too late), annoyingly I had new thermal socks on and the other foot was toasty warm.

Mmmmmmmmm, that sounds nice too - you boys sure know how to warm the cockles of a girls heart angel.gif

Had some real hefty showers of hail this afternoon, gave a nice snow like covering making roads and pavements white. Melted quickly though.

OMG!!!

It was dry here but drove to Ramsgate this evening and parts of ramsgate were white, cars...roads...pathways covered however it looked very slushy not like snow. As we got out the car we could see a pebble like effect to the snow which indicated it was probably hail. By 9.30pm it was pouring down with rain, drove back away from ramsgate and again hit another part with roads covered in white/pathways and cars but it was very slushy.

As we drove through Manston had some big hailstones banging on the roof and then it was all gone

Morning all. I had to scrape ice off the car windows for the first time in ages as I left work this morning. Although it was a degree or 2 colder last night at Heathrow, thankfully the wind eased off enough to allow a 3 rating on the BB-LI ( Layer Index )scale.

I put the heating and electric blanket on as soon as I got home so its a going to be a toasty day sleeping for me. Rain on the way it seems but enjoy your Sunday all.

Morning!

A really lovely, crisp and sunny start to the day with thick frost on the cars and pavement. Temp down to 0.4°C so almost freezing. These are the kind of Winter mornings I like! :)

Oh you two...if you were near I would find myself popping around to join you!....Havent ventured out yet but due to spend the morning and afternoon out in the Berkshire countryside with my friend as she is taking her horse drag hunting for the first time today. Should be interesting. I have all the thermals and baselayers ready because if that wind is like it was yesterday I will need it...I missed all the showers yesterday too so based on the law of averages reckons I may get caught today! 60% of PPN potential for me today.... Enjoy those lovely roasts both...and listen out for my knock at the door I prefer red than whitewink.png

I've got to have a modicum of sense and balance though, I don't want to fall over after being off my head....

Uuuurrrrghhh!! Afternoon each. Dull, wet and miserable in Ippy. I went to a Halloween party last night and had a great time. But.....I had about four thumping big glasses of vino (Rosè and some white) and feel a little fragile today!!!. :(

I'm the ghoul on the right.
