Those of you that are attending can you please make sure you have paid your £5 meal deposit by Friday, and also that you have let me know your menu choices, thanks

The thing about the car picture is that it was taken 40 minutes before high tide yesterday. Some of the boat people were trying to push it out of the water later - I left before the peak of the tide too. Also, although yesterday's was a big tide, the tide on Friday was 40cms higher. If whoever had parked the car had faced that tide, they'd be looking at a written off car. What an idiot!doh.gif

Oh dear, I remember you saying that it was going to be a high tide at Alresford Creek on Sunday afternoon...it's a shame the car owner didn't realise, can you imagine coming back and finding that shok.gif

Morning all! Up to the heady heights of 5.5c here this morning. We didn't get below freezing last night, but we were close at 1c.

Love the photos as always Steve. Ouch regarding the Mercedes, though.

Good Mornin'

An overnight low of 0.2c here at that was during middle of night before more cloud moved in and the breeze picked up. Currently 4.5c and mostly cloud and a increasing southerly breeze now too..

I thought it would be worth copying this post from the previous thread, so folk can see what is expected for the week ahead.

Morning all,

Feels very mild compared to yesterday.

Looks like the SE will be rather boring weather wise this week, light rain here and there mostly at night compared to North Western parts of the UK. Gusty to strong winds but nothing that unusual late autumn day doesn't produce.

Have a great week everyone and let's hope the charts deliver on a decent cold spell.

Owww that's nippy out there in the wind today. Should have bought a coat or something for the lunchtime wander, bike would deffo be out!

This is the deal for the next 48 hours - cloud, wind and spells of rain. It's not great, really.

There's small compensation in the form of mild temperatures but to my mind if it's cloudy, wet and windy, temperatures are little more than academic. I think we tend to respond visually to the weather meaning that if it looks awful it feels it and vice versa.

Yesterday is a case in point; it was pretty chilly but the beautiful sun meant that our overriding impression of the weather was positive. I'm convinced that regardless of highs of 13C over the next couple of days none of us will remember much more than the grey skies and the rain.

Beyond that, though, things look better. It will be mainly dry amd there'll be sunshine too. As for temperatures, who cares?!....

Afternoon all. Another nothing sort of day here in nw London, just a bit breezier than of late.

Fabulous photo's as always Steve. The one with the Merc reminds me very much of a lovely little village down Hampshire way, called Bosham. The incoming tide has been known to maroon cars parked there as well.

Hope your all having a good day, I might grab myself a powernap, been a bit under the weather lately....in both senses !!

I think it was a Mazda MX5, but when you're up to your wheel arches in North Sea, I guess that doesn't really matter and a dinghy is a much better option!! laugh.png

acute.gif As opposed to my favourite (not!) description of the all too familiar zonal dross, "well at least it will be mild" lazy.gif

Good to see some honesty and less of the over generalistic viewpoints coming through.

I know it's only sound bite forecasting, but it does sum up this week quite succinctly from what I can see and I'm certainly not a professional in any way!!!

Hi John,

That looks to give an easterly, but I'd be interested to know your thoughts on whether that would be cold enough to give snow or just very cold rain?
