Right I'm outta here folks. I might not be online tonight but will be keeping an eye on the 'real World' outside and looking for any photo opportunities to share with you guys. I hope everyone has an enjoyable evening of wild weather and nobody has any incidents that give them grief. Then we have the weekends weather to look forward to!

Getting quite gusty. Our side gate needs you to practically run at full force into it to get it open, yet the wind has opened that bad boy no problem!

Although it's not as exciting as snow, I'm quite looking forward to a nice windy night, with me snuggled up warm in bed.

Very windy here.

Why do TV reporters stand in the middle of a river on the news when giving their flood report?

It's a river - it should be there

Makes me giggle every time.

I agree with John that the timing of the low is still up in the air. The timing will affect whether we have a dry start to Saturday or if it will clear in time to leave a half decent Sunday. All shoud be clearer tomorrow I feel.

Looking a little further afield, yet more rain will affect the region for the majority of next week, with an area of LP close-by:

Temperatures will be slightly below average and it will feel cold during periods of rain. Temperatures falling a bit more towards the latter half of the week and it will feel raw in a strengthening NE'ly wind.

Cooling towards the end of the week, as also represented in this other temperature chart: http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/ensimages/ens.20121122/12/t2mCambridgeshire.png

It's been getting more windy here in the last hour. Will be keeping an eye on the models over the weekend. I do like wild windy weather :)

Biggest gust of wind so far here of 52mph. The rain is very close now. Expect wild conditions.

The OH has gone to play football with his friends in this weather. Methinks it may get called off after them getting soaked.

Some substantial gusts of wind here now in west London. Was windy at a wharf earlier, flights in and out of city airport affected. Still going over to heathrow as of a few mins ago. Our gazebo is holding up. The fox is standing under it with his legs in the brace position !
